Aikaterini Vasiou has been serving since November 2022 as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Primary Education at the University of Crete (UoC), in the field of “Methodological Approaches in Educational Psychology.” She completed her undergraduate studies at the School of Philosophy of the University of Ioannina and her postgraduate studies in the Department of Primary Education at the University of Thessaly, where she was awarded a PhD in Educational Psychology. With an Excellence Scholarship, she conducted postdoctoral research in School Psychology and Counseling at the University of Western Macedonia (UOWM). She has participated in research projects at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and the University of the Aegean. She is the Scientific Coordinator of a research project funded through the University of Crete Research Committee Research Funding Programme for the “Support of Early-Career Researchers/Faculty Members” and a member of the scientific team of the project “Science for Growth – Empowering Minds (STEPS)” (Horizon Europe – Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions). Her research interests focus on the design and application of quantitative and qualitative research methods to investigate personal and interpersonal factors in teaching and learning, with an emphasis on adaptation and well-being in educational settings. Prior to her appointment at the University of Crete, she served for 17 years in secondary education and for 3 years as a Laboratory Teaching Staff member (EDIP) at the UOWM.
