Curriculum Vitae
Vasiliki Tsourtou is Associate Professor in Developmental Psychology at the Department of Primary Education, at University of Crete. In the past she has worked as Educational Staff Member of Hellenic Open University and at the Department of Philosophy at University of Crete. Her PhD dissertation is entitled “Experimental Study on Development of Visual-Auditory Coordination in Infancy” (Department of Psychology, University of Crete). She has also fulfilled graduate studies on Clinical Psychology at University of Montpellier, France.
Her research interests are focused on psycho-social development in infancy, toddlerhood and adolescence. She has participated in various research projects, e.g. (a) Action-Research with Street Children working in the streets of Athens, (b) European Program “Open-window” (focused on promoting rights of people with mental health problems, etc.
She has been Supervisor of the following PhD Dissertations: (a) A. Miskou, “Infants’ pride- and shyness- expressions in dyadic and triadic interactions: parenting and social regulation of self-conscious emotions” and (b) A. Lysiova, “Exploration of relation between cognitive flexibility, inhibitory control and perceived parental acceptance/rejection in middle childhood: the mediating role of representation of self-in-action”.
