Dr. Konstantinos G. Karras is a Professor at the Department of Pedagogy, School of Education Sciences, at the University of Crete. He has also taught as an Assistant Professor at the University of Nicosia in Cyprus (2008-2009), as well as at the University of the Aegean and several other universities at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
His research focuses on the social representations of teachers on an international level, particularly concerning their profession, the globalization process, and the role of educators. He has published studies in Greek, English, French, and Russian and has participated in more than 80 international conferences in countries such as Greece, the United States, Canada, South Africa, Bulgaria, Turkey, Serbia, Ireland, and the United Kingdom.
He is the author of eight books on teacher education in Greece and Europe and has edited 27 books and handbooks. Additionally, he has published over 100 articles in various languages, addressing teacher education both in Greece and internationally.
Dr. Karras serves as a reviewer for numerous academic journals in the field of education and has participated in multiple European and international research programs.
His recent work includes the "International Encyclopedia of Teacher Education Worldwide" (Volumes 1, 2, 3), co-edited with Charl Wolhuter and published by HM Studies and Publishing in Nicosia in 2019.
